…and we’re back

What can I say.  No blog updates for 5 months – I didn’t mean for it to go that long but well, here we are.

So jumping right in …

January … um … it was very cold

February, fricken freezing

March … we took a  cruise around the Caribbean to warm up a bit …

And Stephan and I spent a couple of days in Miami …

April brought Easter and Naomi’s end-of-year skating show – she was very excited to appear in the local newspaper …

May brought the beginning of the baseball season for Francis and Stephan (yes, he’s the coach …) and it was Naomi’s ballet recital …

and now on to June … only two weeks left of school and so many more adventures to come!

a new year

It’s hard to believe that I haven’t written anything since August.  It’s not that nothing has been going on, I’ve just been busy.  My readership is low and I was wondering if I should even continue this blog.  I do like to go back and read some of the older entries so I decided that I would continue for now.  My plan is to have this blog printed into books that I can give to the kids as a keepsake.  I know that a few other bloggy friends have done this.

Ok, so here is a quick catch-up from the past few months:

  • In November I was made permanent at my job
  • I’ve gained  10 lbs from our amazing cafeteria
  • Francis made the Pee-wee AA hockey team
  • Hs team is terrible and have only won 2 games
  • I didn’t pass out when I saw Francis’ report card
  • Francis went to his first high school dance
  • Naomi performed her first skating solo
  • Naomi had her 7th birthday party at an art studio
  • She has lost 3 teeth (bottom) so far
  • For Halloween Naomi was a Monster high doll (Cleo de Nile) and Francis was a banana
  • We renovated the 2 upstairs bathrooms and replaced the upstairs hall carpet (finally)
  • I learned that I can fit a hockey goalie bag in my Fiat
  • Stephan turned 42 (he’s getting old) :o)
  • He continues to play hockey several times a week but spent a few weeks on the injured list for a cracked rib

Well, that’s all I can think of for now.  I will do a holiday review and post some pictures soon so stay tuned!

Happy New Year everyone!

Naomi was all smiles on the first day of school – couldn’t wait to see all her friends!  Looks like she has the same teacher as last year (Mme. Stets) but only for French days.  New English teacher is Miss Dahlia.  She looks young and fun but I have not met her yet.  Naomi will have her for the first time today.

Not sure how it is that my baby is in grade 2 already but I just love to watch her blossom and grow through each of her milestones.

I think it’s gonna be a great year.

Back to school – first day of high school!

Yesterday was Francis’ first day of high school (grade 7)

He wasn’t nervous at all, just ran to catch his bus at 7:15am.  Only the grade 7s started Thursday and the rest of the grades start today (and he is off).  Looks like we have a list of school supplies to shop for during the long weekend.

Can’t believe he is in high school already!  OMG where does the time go?!

6-year gotcha day

July 29th marked Naomi’s 6th year as part of our family.  As it turned out, this day fell on a very busy Monday so Naomi graciously accepted to have this special day celebrated on the weekend. We used to always go out to a Chinese restaurant but this time we told her she could choose any restaurant she wanted.  She chose an Italian restaurant and ordered spaghetti and meatballs!

Here are a few pictures from dinner:

‘Lil artiste

Naomi is taking an art class on Saturday mornings that she really loves.  The teacher is fantastic and I love that she sends us pictures after the class!

Since we’re on the subject of artwork, here are a few of her recent doodlings  masterpieces.

The one on the left is an attempt at using pastels …

Cabane a sucre

I am late posting this but here are some pictures from our sugar shack adventures.  We always go back to this same place because we like it so much.  The day that we went was absolutely freezing though!

Les boys …

Naomi loves pea soup … go figure!

Brrrrrr …..

maple taffy time!

Well I think that is enough maple syrup goodness to last us until next year!
