Yesterday we went to Tian an men square - it was really crowded because today there were festivities as it is exactly a year to the Beijing Olimpic Games (08-08-08).
Afterwards we went to a tea house where they showed us how they make different types of tea. Oolong tea means black (Oo) dragon (long) and is the oldest and most traditional tea.
In the evening we went to the Beijing Circus which was really amazing! It was a bit like Cirque du Soleil but with children acrobats!
This morning we went to a silk store and manyfacturer and learned all about the process of making silk. A beautiful but expensive store!
Afterwards we went to the Summer Palace. We were only there for a few hours so it was a bit rushed. I would have loved to spend the whole day there! We took a Dragon Boat from one end of the palace to the bus.
Afterwards we went to the Canadian Embassy for the Naomi's Visa!
Tomorrow we are going to the Silk Road (or is it market? I am translating; rue de la soie) to look for bargains. Our guide has warned us that there is no real silk to be found on Silk Road - strange!
