carrier and luggage

Yesterday I finally got my BabyHawk Mei-Tai baby carrier in the mail!! I had it done reversible with Red Hot Geisha fabric on one side and Blue Lotus on the other. I tried it on with a teddy bear standing in as Naomi - I think I'm going to need some practise!!

This evening we dragged out our 2 largest suitcases to start preparing for packing. I'm usually a good packer so I am not too worried - maybe just about the 44 lb maximum for each bag. I'm kinda wishing we had bought 2 of those big brown suitcases! We are taking backpacks as carry-on - here's mine - Did ya notice I'm from Canada? Even Francis has his own little carry-on that will hold his fun items for the plane ... Gameboy, play dough, books, drawing stuff, movies, music ... etc!
The suitcases are out!!

A few things ready to pack ...

Spidey suitcase ... ready for action!

Sooooo exciting!!!

I wonder if you could help me out! I've been starting to look at luggage since we need to buy some new ones before we travel.

What are the laws for size/weight to fly from Canada to China??

Is it mostly the weight we need to worry about?? Also...do you know if you can have a whole seperate suitcase just for our daughter...or are you only allowed one big suitcase each and your carry on??

I actually emailed these questions to my agency yesterday but they are on holidays for this week.

Thought since you just posted this...you may know the answers!!!

Happy packing!!!

Hmmm, I wonder if we will be at the White Swan together. I haven't received my TA yet, but it would be nice for Leah to play with another little kid her own age in China! You never know!

You're gonna have to let me know what you think of how Babyhawk works. I am lusting over their cuteness.

You are one organized gal!

That is the same baby carrier that I'm planning on ordering. You'll have to post on how it works out for you...I'm anxious to hear if it's a good one.

On the luggage, I'm really concerned about the weight limit and getting everything packed. Did you weigh your bags to see how heavy they are empty? I've seen ads for super light-weight luggage and I'm thinking of checking into those to see how lighter they really are.

Good luck getting everything together and packed and come on TA's!

Donna :)

I just got done traveling and used a Mei tai (not the babyhawk - but I am getting one soon)... and it was so nice not having to lug around a stroller. Taite fell asleep in the MT and they didnt even make me take him off through airport security.. SO NICE!!! Enjoy
