Happy St-Jean!

Today is the official day of Quebec, a province of Canada. Originally, June 24 was a holiday honouring the patron saint of French Canada, St. John the Baptist. It is known as St-Jean Baptiste, la fĂȘte Nationale or la fĂȘte de la St-Jean.

This holiday is usually celebrated with friends and family. There are parades and fireworks and bonfires. The towns often organize events such as a day in the park with activities for everyone. You can also usually find a fair in a mall parking lot and there is always an abundance of hamburgers and beer. Cheers!
